Title: Comfy : dagdagelijkse fietshelm voor mannen én vrouwen
Authors: Blues, Ward
Issue Date: 2016
Publisher: Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen
Abstract: Everyday in Flanders 20 bike accidents happen. With and without head or brain injuries. We all know that a bike helmet isn’t the most wanted product. It’s not fun or beautiful to wear, but it can save your life! With this project I wanted to let people know how important it is to protect their head. I did that by starting with research. What’s wrong with a bike helmet? What could be done better? I also involved people to give their opinion. That’s how I learned about problems they encounter while wearing a bike helmet or why they don’t want to wear one anymore. This resulted in 3 key points that I found in this research. Those are the ones I took on to make the bike helmet better and likable. In this script I want to show and describe the full development of my bike helmet. From idea generation to prototype. The problems on the way and how I solved them during the process. I named this helmet: “Comfy” pointing to the comfortable factor. That’s something I thought was very important. Not only comfortable to wear but also handling the closing clasp without any troubles was important.
